A Dietitian or Clinical Nutritionist working in Ireland has a recognized qualification in Nutrition & Dietetics and is a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (M.I.N.D.I.). We have a scientific and medical background, which ensures that we can educate you on your nutritional needs, taking into account any medical condition you may have.

WHAT’S INVOLVED WHEN SEEING A DIETITIAN?
A New Appointment will take approx. 45mins to 1 hour. I will do a Nutritional Assessment (take Weight, Height & Waist Circumference) & Dietary Assessment (we will discuss your current eating habits). We will go through your Meal Plan and Diet sheet, which is individualized to suit you.
Any review appointments usually last for 20-30mins.
Patients are seen on an individual basis, i.e.: not in a group setting.

WHO IS YOUR CONSULTANT DIETITIAN/ CLINICAL NUTRITIONIST?
My name is Ruth Reidy and I studied in Trinity College Dublin & Kevin Street D.I.T. for five years where I received a B.Sc. (Hons) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. I qualified as a Dietitian in November 1997 and have worked in the UK in Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. I returned to Ireland in August 1999, to work in Limerick Regional Hospital. Since then I’ve worked as a Dietitian for Roche Products Ireland providing a dietetic support service for people taking Xenical for Weight reduction. I then moved to the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork and have been running a Private Practice clinic for many years. This clinic is held on a Saturday at Livinghealth Clinic.
